Spiral Wound

Spiral Wound Gaskets are a semi-metallic gasket formed by spirally winding V-shaped metal strips with a non-metallic filler, creating its sealing characteristics. They are then supported with solid metal internal and external rings for greater strength. They come in a wide range of configurations, from a variety of fillers and support rings. Due to the fillers and support rings they can with stand a wide range of temperatures, pressures and mediums.

Packing

MP18930F

compressed-non-img

MP1890F is a ramies fibre packing, impregnated with mineral grease and PTFE (or tallow) to make it pliable and resilient. A good general purpose pump packing, suitable for a range of water applications and various oils.

Speed: 2000 FPM (10m/sec)

    Temperature rating :
  • -50°C to 140°C

MP8005

compressed-non-img

MP8005 is a pure expanded graphite yarn packing. The graphite construction allows this packing to reach high temperature range. As graphite it quite soft and pliable, it makes it suitable for bronze of soft seals and worn equipment. Also available with an Inconel wire insert (MP8005i)

Speed: 4400 FPM (25m/sec)

    Temperature rating :
  • -240°C to 649°C

MP1840

compressed-non-img

MP1840 is a tough low abrasion carbon fire braid impregnated with PTFE. It is most suitable for strong caustic and acid applications, and where contamination is prohibited.

Speed: 4000 FPM (20m/sec)

    Temperature rating :
  • -250°C to 300°C

MP4140

compressed-non-img

MP4140 is a virgin PTFE fibre yarn heavily impregnated with ultra-pure graphite powder and lubricated with an inert lubrication. It has a very low friction coefficient. Commonly referred to as GFO.

Speed: 2500 FPM (12.5m/sec)

    Temperature rating :
  • -200°C to 280°C

MP4168

compressed-non-img

MP4168 is a specialty packing which displays the strength of Kevlar and mechanical qualities of a GFO packing. Designed to resist extrusion at higher pressures, while still maintaining minimal shaft wear. Can you be used in conjunction with other packings as a ‘Bull’ ring in the bottom of a stuffing box to avoid extrusion.

Speed: 2250 FPM (11.5m/sec)

    Temperature rating :
  • -110°C to 260°C

MP4130F

compressed-non-img

MP4130 is a pure PTFE braided packing. Making it highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals, acids and alkalis. It also conforms to FDA requirements. Is available lubricated with a silicone oil to assist with pump starts (MP4130L)

Speed: 1575 FPM (8m/sec)

    Temperature rating :
  • -268°C to 260°C

Packmaster 2

compressed-non-img

Packmaster 2 is a lattice braided spun synthetic yarn lubricated with graphite and petroleum based oil making it durable and resilient. Is an excellent general purpose packing.

Speed: 1500 FPM (8m/sec)

    Temperature rating :
  • -110°C to 260°C
